Watch FELT
About the Film
"FELT" was made as part of the National Film Challenge October 1st-4th, 2004. The NFC is an annual competition where filmmakers are given three days to write, shoot, soundtrack, and edit a four to eight minute film. On Friday evening, a required character, prop, and line of dialogue, along with a genre, are e-mailed to each participating team. The finished film must be postmarked for and shipped by the following Monday.
"FELT" won Best Mockumentary, and was selected as a Top Ten finalist out of 151 entries.

Our required elements were:

  • Genre: Mockumentary
  • Character: J. Upton, Dog Walker
  • Prop: Map
  • Line of Dialogue: "You caught me at a bad time."
"FELT" was filmed entirely on location in Laurel, MD. Total running time - 7:38
The Cavegirl/Defekt Productions film team also has participated in the NFCs sister competition, the 48 Hour Film Project. Their 2005 48HFP entry, the horror HATCH, which won Best Location, can be viewed here. Their 2004 48HFP entry (and first film endeavour), the sci-fi APERTURE, can be viewed here.

Disclaimer:
If you don't know satire when you see it, you probably believe the Gay Manifesto is true too, and you are, in fact, a big freaking idiot.
For the record, we obviously think the real Pastor Fred Phelps is a stupid, sad little man.
